About this product
Heavy-duty Australian-manufactured engine stop cable kit for operating mechanical diesel engine stop levers, fuel shut-off controls and similar mechanical linkages. Select the required cable length from 2 to 6 metres. The outer conduit and solid stainless-steel inner wire can be trimmed to suit the installation. Cable construction: • Heavy-duty 7 mm outer conduit • Low-friction HDPE liner • 2.0 mm solid stainless-steel inner wire • M8 bulkhead mounting arrangement Fitting kit includes: • Handle mounting nuts and washer • Adjustable cable stop • M8 bulkhead fitting with nuts and washer Typical applications: • Diesel engine stop controls • Mechanical fuel shut-off levers • Tractors and agricultural machinery • Generators • Stationary engines • Marine engines Trim-to-length fitting instructions: 1. Remove the solid stainless-steel inner wire from the outer conduit. 2. Dummy-fit the outer conduit and determine the required finished length. 3. Cut the outer conduit with an angle grinder and chamfer and clean the cut end 4. Install the supplied M8 bulkhead fitting onto the cut end of the conduit. Secure the M8 bulkhead fitting with two-part epoxy adhesive. 5. Replace the solid stainless-steel inner wire and install the cable assembly. 6. Loosely fit the adjustable cable stop to the inner cable. 7. Operate the control through its complete movement and check that the engine stop lever reaches the required positions without binding. 8. Tighten the cable stop securely and trim the excess inner wire. Please check before ordering: This is a universal trim-to-length control cable kit rather than a direct equipment-specific replacement. Confirm the required cable length, travel, mounting arrangement and linkage connection before purchasing. Always remove the inner wire before cutting the outer conduit.
