Heavy-duty universal accelerator pedal and cable conversion kit for trucks, buses, coaches and commercial vehicles. Designed to replace air-operated accelerator controls, mechanical throttle linkages and worn pedal/cable assemblies. Suitable for conversions to mechanical cable-operated throttle control. Select the required cable length from 4 to 15 metres. Both the outer cable and galvanised steel inner can be trimmed to suit the installation. Cable construction: • Industrial-grade 10 mm accelerator outer cable • 3 mm galvanised steel inner cable, 7x7 construction • M10 bulkhead cable mounting arrangement • Heavy-duty accelerator pedal assembly Fitting kit includes: • 2 x rubber dust boots • Grooved cable end fitting • M6 clevis • M6 ball joint • Adjustable stainless-steel cable pivot • Fitting and mounting hardware Typical applications: • Trucks, buses and coaches • Replacement of air-operated accelerator controls • Conversion from mechanical throttle linkage systems • Replacement of worn accelerator pedal and cable assemblies • Custom diesel engine installations Trim-to-length fitting instructions: 1. Mount the accelerator pedal securely in the vehicle and connect the cable using the M10 bulkhead fitting and adjustable pivot as shown in the product photographs. 2. Route the cable along the vehicle, avoiding heat sources, sharp edges and moving components. 3. Determine the required finished outer cable length and clearly mark the cutting position. 4. Remove the cable from the vehicle and withdraw the inner cable from the outer cable. 5. Cut the outer cable to the required length using an angle grinder. 6. Chamfer and clean the cut end, removing sharp edges and debris. 7. Remove approximately 15 mm of black plastic covering from the cut end of the outer cable. 8. Fit the supplied grooved cable end fitting and secure using suitable two-part epoxy adhesive. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before proceeding. 9. Replace the galvanised steel inner cable. 10. Refit the cable assembly, including both rubber dust boots. 11. Select the M6 clevis or M6 ball joint to suit the engine throttle linkage and secure the connection. 12. Secure the inner cable at the pedal end using the adjustable stainless-steel pivot. 13. Check the complete pedal and throttle movement, ensuring smooth operation, positive return to idle and correct full-throttle travel. 14. Adjust the pedal stop to prevent overtravel or excessive loading of the throttle linkage. 15. Tighten and secure all fittings. Confirm correct operation before returning the vehicle to service. Installation, mounting arrangements and linkage adaptation will depend on the individual vehicle. Professional installation is recommended. Always remove the inner cable before cutting the outer cable. Wear suitable eye and hand protection when cutting or grinding. Ensure the throttle returns freely to idle before operating the vehicle.
