Replacement 15-tooth sun gear for selected VDO mechanical odometer and speedometer assemblies. This small gear commonly becomes brittle and splits with age, causing the odometer and trip meter to stop operating while the speedometer may continue to indicate road speed. Applications can include selected Audi 80, 90, 100 and 200; Volvo 850; Porsche 911 and 968; Mercedes-Benz W140 and R129; and other vehicles fitted with the same VDO mechanism. Instruments can vary within the same vehicle model and production year. The instrument must be disassembled and the original gear inspected before ordering. Purchase this product only when the original small gear has exactly 15 teeth and matches the gear shown in the photograph.
