Heavy-duty Australian-manufactured universal accelerator and throttle cable kit for custom automotive, industrial and mechanical-control applications. Select the required cable length from 2 to 6 metres. The outer cable and stainless-steel inner cables can be trimmed to suit the installation. Two flexible 2 mm stainless-steel inner cables are supplied: - 1×19 stainless-steel inner cable for straighter runs requiring a firmer cable - 7×7 stainless-steel inner cable for installations requiring greater flexibility, supplied with a soldered barrel end. This allows the installer to select the inner cable best suited to the required routing and linkage arrangement. Determine which stainless-steel inner cable best suits the installation. Use the firmer 1×19 cable for relatively straight routing or the more flexible 7×7 cable where tighter bends are required. 2. Remove the selected inner cable from the outer cable before cutting or modifying the outer. 3. Dummy-fit the outer cable and determine the required finished length and routing. Avoid sharp bends, hot exhaust components and moving parts. 4. Position the permanently swaged M8 bulkhead at the preferred mounting end and clearly mark the outer cable at the required cutting position. 5. Cut the outer cable using a fine abrasive cut-off wheel or angle grinder. 6. Chamfer and clean the cut end carefully. Remove all sharp edges and debris that could damage the liner or inner cable. 7. Install the supplied loose M8 bulkhead fitting onto the cut end and secure it using a suitable two-part epoxy adhesive. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before loading the cable. 8. Install the outer cable using the supplied M8 nuts and washers. Ensure both ends are securely mounted and properly aligned with the pedal and throttle linkage. 9. Insert the selected stainless-steel inner cable and fit the appropriate supplied linkage fittings. 10. Operate the pedal and throttle through their complete range. Confirm that the throttle returns fully to idle and reaches full opening without binding or placing excessive tension on the cable. 11. Adjust and tighten the cable stops and linkage fittings securely. 12. Trim the excess inner cable only after the complete installation and adjustment have been confirmed. Important: The accelerator pedal or throttle mechanism must have suitable travel stops. Do not use the inner cable itself as the mechanical stop at full throttle. Ensure that the throttle has an effective return spring and returns freely to the closed position. Always remove the inner cable before cutting the outer cable.
